2009 Verizon Wireless Florida Tour
Miami
TPC in conjunction with Bayshore Productions is currently on tour with Verizon Wireless for the 2009 All Hands tour. We will be traveling to 5 cities in two weeks. The meetings are designed to recap with the regions employees on where the company is going and what is new from the latest and greatest. On an audio visual side the meetings can sometimes be very demanding, often enough unloading one night, running a meeting the following morning and packing all the gear and driving to the next location to setup and be ready for the morning. After years in the field TPC and Bayshore Productions have perfected these types of situations by planning for everything and carefully executing a flawless event.
This year we ran into a slight problem when our trailer blew a tire at 5am in the middle of Alligator Alley in Florida which is a completely isolated road in the middle of the everglades. We managed to get another rim and tire and get back on the road to Miami where we still managed to be set for the events first run through. In the audio visual event world it isn’t always easy to plan plan for everything but fast thinking and a calm attitude always help in getting through whatever is thrown at us.
We have actually kept the tire with us as a reminder that we are human to and things do happen. One of the guys on the crew thought it would be a good idea to take a picture with it. Sometimes a little humor goes a long way.
Moving on. you can see above that we have included a picture of what the room looked like before we setup our gear and after. This once again dictates on how you can have a meeting, or a production. We always prefer a production!
This years setup for each city consisted of but not limited to:
- 2 Fast Fold Rear Projection 7×10 Projection Screens with Dress kits
- 1 32 inch preview monitor
- 2 4000 Lumen LCD Projectors
- 20 LED Wall Wash
- 2 Source Four Leko’s
- 4 10 ft sticks of truss
- 2 Sennheiser Wireless Lav Mics
- 4 Shure Wireless Handhelds
- Kramer Video Switcher
- Pipe and Drape
- 4 LED Par Cans
- Mackie Sound Board
- TVI Compact Ground Stackable Line Array
- 2 QSC 18 inch Subwoofers
- etc….
Orlando
We arrived at the Rosen Shingle Creek at about 7pm. After a quick walk through we grabbed some food before we did our load out. Load out and setup took us about 2 hours. We setup our screen and projectors together with the Kramer video switcher first so we could run a DVD while we finished setting the rest of our gear.
We did something a little different with the Truss by setting a 6 foot top section together with 2 more LED truss warmers in Verizon red. This tied everything together. A little more setup but worth the time for the new look.
St. Agustine
We arrived at the Renaissance in World Golf Village outside of St. Augustine at about 9pm from Tallahassee. After getting a quick bite to eat we setup our last event for this series of meetings. As always our setup included a similar setup however we used an extra 6 foot span of truss to make up for the wider room. From the moment we unloaded to the moment we walked out of the ballroom to catch some sleep we had the entire room set and tested in about 2 hours which seems to be our typical time for a setup such as this. We look forward to January’s series of events.
